Little known facts.

LABD is patterned after the “Steely Dan” organizational model. The core members of the band are joined by a rotation of top-notch players on various projects. The only difference is the noticeable lack of material and musical chops but LABD never lets small details get in the way of having a good time.


 

 

Band Bio Page .

Richard “Daddy Rich” Moorings (Lead Vocals, Trombone, Piano and Organ). Grew up in Los Angeles and is a product of the LA Unified School System Music Department. After a stint in the U.S. Army, “Daddy Rich” became a member of the local band “Thrust” along with Dave and Matt. After the band broke-up, Richard became a sought after horn player/arranger/vocalist performing with L.T. D., Teena Marie, and many others.  

David E. Jackson (Drums, Percussion) studied drums at the Billy Moore Studio of Percussion. He has toured extensivily with Loose Ends, Sista Monica, Ronnie Laws, Ty-G, The "Jealous Kind of Fellow" Garland Greene and others..

Matt Bragg (Bass and Guitar) was heavily influenced by the Beatles and began playing guitar at an early age. He has toured internationally and performed on stages near and far. As the staff bass player at B.B. King’s Blues Club, Universal Studios Hollywood and 6 seasons in the band for NBC’s Will & Grace, Matt Bragg had the opportunity to play with some great performers. He is a voting member of the Recording Academy and Gold Record recipient for working with such artists as Richard Tee, Bill Withers, the Whispers, Tom Scott and Bob James.
